ISO Docs Alternatives: ISO 42001 and ISO 27001 Toolkits Compared (2026)
ISO Docs, the iso-docs.com store (site header "ISO Templates and Documents Download", part of the Techno-PM group), lists its ISO 42001 Toolkit & AI Governance Framework at $799.00 USD one-time and its ISO 27001 Toolkit Documentation Toolkit at $299.00 (iso-docs.com/products/iso-42001-ai-governance-framework and iso-docs.com/products/iso27001-bundle, checked 5 September 2026). ComplianceDocs sells the same product class, editable one-time Word and Excel document sets licensed to one organization, at $99 (ISO 42001, ISO 27001 Complete, SOC 2 Complete) and $79 (NIST CSF 2.0), with fewer templates at every price point. No template, at any price, makes an organization certified or compliant on its own.

ISO Docs alternatives at a glance (prices as published, checked 5 September 2026)
Yes, we include our own products in this comparison. No vendor paid to be listed, and every competitor figure below was read directly from the vendor's own public pricing or product page on the date stated — not from a third-party summary.
ISO Docs is the iso-docs.com store. Its site header reads "ISO Templates and Documents Download", its About page says "ISO Docs is a part of Techno-PM", and its Terms of Service say the site "is part of the Techno-PM group of websites".
Our read of the catalog is that it is mostly one-time, instantly downloaded document toolkits and single templates, priced per framework and each displayed as a "Regular price" with no strike-through when checked: $799.00 for ISO 42001, $299.00 for ISO 27001, $599.00 for SOC 2, $399.00 for NIST CSF 2.0 and $99.00 for GDPR. A sitewide popup on every page we fetched reads "Save 10% off your first purchase. Sign up today and we'll send you a 10% discount code towards your first purchase."
(as displayed on every iso-docs.com page listed in the table note, checked 5 September 2026). Above the toolkits sit multi-framework bundles, three of which showed a struck regular price and a sale price with no end date displayed on the page: the Cybersecurity Bundle (ISO 27001 + NIST + SOC 2) at $899.00, struck from $1,299.00; the AI Governance Bundle (ISO 42001 + EU AI Act) at $839.00, struck from $1,199.00; and the ISO Popular Toolkits Bundle (ISO 27001 + ISO 9001 + ISO 42001) at $899.00, struck from $1,299.00.
Below the toolkits sit single templates, including 29 ISO 42001 singles priced $79.00 each in the store's public product data (iso-docs.com/products.json, paginated: ?limit=250&page=1 through page=3, 750 products). ISO Docs also sells implementation services, courses, consultant licenses and toolkits for standards we do not cover; nothing on this page, ours included, substitutes for those (see the last section).
Two things to read carefully. First, the template counts. ISO Docs' summaries say "80+" (ISO 27001), "28 Templates" (SOC 2), 32 templates (NIST CSF 2.0) and "70 Templates" (GDPR), and each page also lists its titles one by one.
We counted those lists: the ISO 27001 page lists 82 titles, of which 80 are unique (two titles each appear twice), and the GDPR page lists 70, of which 69 are unique (one repeats); the SOC 2 and NIST CSF lists match their stated counts exactly (28 and 32), and the ISO 42001 page, which states no count, lists 29.
Second, no end date for the bundle sale prices is displayed on any page we fetched; the pages' JSON-LD priceValidUntil advanced by one day between our 5 and 6 September fetches, so it is not a stated sale deadline — re-check the prices before you buy.
Every ISO Docs figure below is as displayed on the vendor's page; we have not converted currencies, and we have not counted a bundle's contents by adding up its component toolkits, because the three struck-through bundle pages state no template count (the AI Governance + Risk Combo page says "130+" and lists its contents by toolkit; we have not added those up).
ISO Docs' ISO 42001, ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST CSF 2.0 and GDPR toolkits vs ComplianceDocs' equivalents — price, contents and license as published on each vendor's own page, checked 5 September 2026

| ComplianceDocs | NIST CSF 2.0 Complete Toolkit | $79 (one-time) | 15 policies and plans covering all six CSF 2.0 functions plus a Profile & Assessment workbook covering all 106 subcategories, a risk register and an audit evidence checklist (3 Excel workbooks) | Same single-organization, one-time license | About one-fifth of the price; 15 documents plus 3 workbooks against 32 |
| ComplianceDocs | GDPR Compliance Pack for Small Business | $79 (one-time) | 14 editable GDPR documents plus a pre-filled Records of Processing Activities (Art. 30) workbook and an evidence checklist (2 Excel workbooks) | Same single-organization, one-time license | $20 less, but 14 documents plus 2 workbooks against 70 listed titles; not an unqualified cheaper route |
All ISO Docs figures as displayed on the vendor's own public product and policy pages, checked 5 September 2026: iso-docs.com/products/iso-42001-ai-governance-framework; iso-docs.com/products/iso27001-bundle; iso-docs.com/products/soc-2-implementation-toolkit; iso-docs.com/products/nist-csf-implementation-toolkit; iso-docs.com/products/gdpr-implementation-toolkit; iso-docs.com/products/eu-ai-implementation-toolkit; iso-docs.com/products/cybersecurity-bundle; iso-docs.com/products/ai-governance-bundle; iso-docs.com/products/iso-popular-toolkits-bundle; iso-docs.com/products/ai-governance-risk-combo; iso-docs.com/pages/terms-of-service; iso-docs.com/pages/faq; iso-docs.com/pages/about-us; iso-docs.com/policies/privacy-policy; iso-docs.com/policies/refund-policy; the iso-docs.com homepage; and the store's public product data at iso-docs.com/products.json (paginated, ?limit=250&page=1 through 3) (used for the count and price of the ISO 42001 single templates and for the list of other standards the store covers).
All prices are USD as displayed and are not converted. Template counts marked "our count" are counts of the titles listed on the vendor's page, not an inspection of the files. ComplianceDocs figures are our own published list prices on the same date; our product pages are the source of truth for current prices. No toolkit here, at any price, makes an organization certified or compliant on its own.
What ISO Docs' $799.00 actually buys — and what it doesn't
ISO Docs' real differentiator is enumerated breadth. Its $799.00 ISO 42001 toolkit lists 29 titles, and they are not all policies: the list includes an Excel Implementation Plan, a Project Plan and a Project Status Report, a RASCI Matrix, an Internal Audit Dashboard, an Internal Audit Checklist in Excel, a Change Request Log, a Vulnerability Management Tracking Spreadsheet and a Management Review Meeting Agenda in PowerPoint, alongside the procedures a management system needs (System Impact Assessment, Responsible AI Development Lifecycle, Third Party and Customer Relationships).
Its ISO 27001 toolkit is the same pattern at larger scale: 82 listed titles grouped under implementation and planning, risk management, ISMS policies, change management, incident management, internal audit, management review and mandatory documents, plus "Free access to FastTrack AI" to generate its ISO 27001 documentation. The vendor states the sets were "built by certified Lead Auditors" (ISO 27001) and "Designed by former KPMG and PwC experts" (ISO 42001); we have not verified either claim and repeat them only as the vendor's.
Purchase is a one-time payment with instant download, and the FAQ block shared across most product pages says "All our products are ONE TIME PAYMENT", that templates "can be edited and changed as you need", and that they "are built using MS Office".
Four limits are worth knowing before you compare on price, all read from ISO Docs' own pages. First, the license is not on the product pages: none of the five toolkit pages we fetched states who may use the files. The terms live on the site's Terms of Service, which grant use "within their own business or projects", prohibit resale and redistribution, call the license "non-transferable", and permit multi-client use only for buyers of "the Consultant Toolkit, Consultant Launchpad, or ISO Consultant Pack".
Second, the update entitlement is stated two ways: the Terms say "Unless otherwise stated, updates are free for 12 months from the purchase date", while the FAQ block on the ISO 42001, SOC 2, NIST CSF and GDPR pages asks "How will I get my FREE monthly updates?" and answers that download links are emailed "in the first few days of the month". Ask which applies to your purchase.
Third, two of the enumerated lists repeat titles: "Secure System Architecture and Engineering Principles" and "Audit Non-Conformity Report" each appear twice in the ISO 27001 list, and "Security Procedures for IT Department" appears twice in the GDPR list (once as "Security Procedures For IT Department", differing only in the capital F), so the unique counts are 80 and 69 rather than 82 and 70.
Fourth, the per-template price is not consistent across the catalog: dividing each list price by the number of titles listed on its page gives $27.55 per title for ISO 42001, $21.39 for SOC 2, $12.47 for NIST CSF 2.0, $3.65 for ISO 27001 and $1.41 for GDPR (our arithmetic, not a figure ISO Docs publishes). Whether that spread reflects the work in each template is something only the files can show.
Two more observations, on the bundles and on the store itself. The AI Governance Bundle page says the bundle "combines ISO 42001 (AI Management System) with EU AI Act readiness frameworks", at $839.00 (struck from $1,199.00), and does not enumerate its contents.
We therefore compared the title lists of the two standalone toolkits instead, on our inference that they correspond: seven of the eleven titles on the EU AI Implementation Toolkit page also appear in the ISO 42001 list once the "ISO 42001 AIMS" prefix is disregarded on the ISO 42001 list and, on the EU AI Act list, the leading "AI" is disregarded and the vendor's rendering of "AI" as "Al" (capital A, lowercase L) is read as "AI" (our title comparison; we did not open the files), so a buyer should ask how much of the second toolkit is new.
The EU AI Act page itself showed "Regular price $699.00" struck to "Sale price $399.00" with no end date displayed on the page. As for the store: the About page says "ISO Docs is a part of Techno-PM. Founded in 2016", its Privacy Policy names "Techno-PM Pvt Ltd" at a Sydney address, and the Terms place disputes under "the laws of New South Wales, Australia".
What ISO Docs' toolkits are not is software. Like ours, they are Word, Excel and (in the ISO 42001 set) PowerPoint files you tailor yourself. The FastTrack AI access bundled with the ISO 27001 toolkit, and the ISO FastTrack project tool and ISO Policy Writer generator the homepage promotes ("Explore ISO FastTrack", "Explore ISO Policy Writer"), sit alongside the document set rather than inside it.
If price is the reason you are looking: ComplianceDocs, and ISO Docs' own lower-priced routes
We are the substitute for the do-it-yourself documentation buyer: an organization that would buy an ISO Docs toolkit for its own single-organization use and edit the templates itself. Against ISO Docs' ISO 42001 Toolkit & AI Governance Framework at "Regular price $799.00" (29 listed templates), ComplianceDocs' ISO 42001 AI Management System Toolkit is $99 one-time: 14 editable ISO/IEC 42001:2023 policies and procedures plus the Annex A Statement of Applicability, an AI risk register and an audit evidence checklist.
Against its ISO 27001 Toolkit Documentation Toolkit at "Regular price $299.00" ("80+ ready-to-use templates"), our ISO 27001 Complete Toolkit is $99 one-time with 24 policies and procedures plus the risk register, the 93-control Statement of Applicability and an audit evidence checklist, and the ISO 27001 Policy Pack Core is $59 for 16 policies plus the Statement of Applicability.
Against its SOC 2 Implementation Toolkit at "Regular price $599.00" ("28 Templates Created by Experts"), our SOC 2 Complete Toolkit is $99 with 22 policies plus the risk register, the full Trust Services Criteria mapping and an audit evidence checklist. Against its NIST CSF 2.0 Implementation Toolkit at "Regular price $399.00" (32 templates), our NIST CSF 2.0 Complete Toolkit is $79 for 15 policies and plans plus a Profile & Assessment workbook covering all 106 subcategories, a risk register and an audit evidence checklist.
Both sides are the same product class: editable, one-time-purchase, instantly downloaded Word and Excel documents licensed to one organization. Every ComplianceDocs toolkit has free real-content previews so you can read the writing before paying, and our documents are drafted with AI under a structured editorial framework, then reviewed against current framework requirements before publication.
Being equally clear about what you give up. At every one of these price points ISO Docs lists more templates than we ship: 29 listed titles against our 14 documents plus 3 workbooks, 80+ against 24 plus 3 workbooks, 28 against 22 plus 3 workbooks, 32 against 15 plus 3 workbooks. A buyer choosing us is choosing a smaller consolidated set at a lower price, not a like-for-like count.
ISO Docs' lists also include project-management artifacts these toolkits of ours do not: a project plan, a project status report, a RASCI matrix, an internal-audit dashboard, a PowerPoint meeting agenda. Our workbooks are the risk register, the Statement of Applicability or control mapping, and the audit evidence checklist. We include no AI generator, no email-and-chat support entitlement and no monthly or 12-month update program; our terms are a one-time purchase; a file that is defective or materially not as described, reported within 14 days, is repaired, replaced or refunded at our choice.
ISO Docs publishes its own refund terms (iso-docs.com/policies/refund-policy, checked 5 September 2026): it "will REFUND the full amount" where "Templates don't work as described and we cannot fix your problem in less than 24 hours", where "Templates are missing from your download and we cannot provide you the same templates shown on the site", or where "You are not able to access the download"; its FAQ page words the first scenario as "in a reasonable time", so confirm which applies.
If the FastTrack AI access, the support line or the update feed is the part of ISO Docs you value, we are not the substitute for it.
ISO Docs' own catalog has lower-priced routes that are worth pricing before you leave it. Its GDPR Implementation Toolkit is $99.00 for 70 listed templates (69 unique), which is far more documents than our GDPR Compliance Pack for Small Business, $79 for 14 documents plus the Records of Processing Activities workbook and an evidence checklist; on GDPR we are $20 cheaper but not the larger set.
Its ISO 42001 singles are $79.00 each, but buying all 29 of the $79.00 ISO 42001 singles would come to $2,291 (our arithmetic), so the singles are a way to buy one procedure, not a cheaper way to buy the set.
And its three struck-through bundles ($899.00, $839.00 and $899.00) are only a saving if you need every framework in the bundle; on our side the closest multi-framework purchases are the ISO 27001 + SOC 2 Dual Toolkit at $149 (47 documents) and the All-Access Compliance Library at $599 (every toolkit, 124 documents), both still licensed to one organization.
For ISO 27001 specifically, our comparisons of Advisera, CertiKit, High Table and ComplianceForge carry those vendors' prices as checked on their own dates; we have not re-fetched them for this page and do not repeat their figures here.
When ISO Docs is the right choice — and when nothing here substitutes
Buy ISO Docs if enumerated breadth is what you need: if your implementation plan wants a project plan, a status report, a RASCI matrix and an audit dashboard delivered alongside the policies rather than built in-house, its 29-title ISO 42001 set and 82-title ISO 27001 set are the larger inventories, and the ISO 27001 toolkit bundles "Free access to FastTrack AI" (the vendor's wording). Buy it if you want a stated update entitlement (12 months per the Terms, monthly per the FAQ) and an email-and-chat support line where the product page states one.
And buy it if you are documenting several standards at once: the store also sells toolkits for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 20000, ISO 22301 and integrated management systems, plus DORA, NIS 2, ESG and COSO products, and its bundles cross those lines.
We are not the substitute for anything ISO Docs sells beyond an editable document set for one organization: not its ISO Done For You service at "$4,999 fixed-fee package, paid by milestone", its ISO Express documentation service ("delivered in five business days"), its ISO 27001 Implementation Workshop or ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor listings, the "Free access to FastTrack AI" bundled with its $299.00 ISO 27001 toolkit, its ISO FastTrack and ISO Policy Writer software, its "Unlimited Email and Chat Support" and "FREE monthly updates" entitlements, or the multi-client use its Terms permit only for "the Consultant Toolkit, Consultant Launchpad, or ISO Consultant Pack".
ComplianceDocs sells document toolkits and single templates and nothing else, as one-time purchases with no subscription, no consulting, no courses or workshops, no support entitlement beyond the 14-day defective-file remedy and download help, and no AI document generator, under a single-organization license (consultants need one license per client organization). And for the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 20000, ISO 22301, IMS, DORA, NIS 2, ESG, COSO, IT and data governance, business continuity and project-management toolkits ISO Docs lists, we sell nothing at all.
If one of those is why you are on iso-docs.com, this comparison does not apply to your purchase.
As with every option here: no template, at any price, makes an organization certified or compliant on its own. ISO 27001 certification is issued by an accredited certification body after a Stage 1 and Stage 2 audit of a management system that actually operates, and an ISO 42001 certificate likewise comes from a certification body, not from a document set; a SOC 2 report is an independent CPA firm's attestation; NIST CSF and GDPR alignment come from operating the controls. Both vendors' toolkits are the documentation layer only.
Read the files before you pay, whichever store you choose: ISO Docs advertises a free sample download in the title of its ISO 42001 product, and every ComplianceDocs toolkit has free real-content previews. ISO Docs' ISO 42001, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR and EU AI Act product pages also offer a pre-purchase demo ("Unsure About Our Templates? Schedule a Demo With Us!" — "Our SME will walk you through the templates and answer all your questions"), which we do not, and the ISO 42001 page offers "Download Your Free AI Policy Framework Template".
Frequently asked questions
- What is a cheaper alternative to ISO Docs?
- For the four frameworks where the catalogs overlap, ComplianceDocs sells the same class of product, editable one-time Word and Excel document sets licensed to one organization, at a lower list price: ISO 42001 at $99 against ISO Docs' $799.00, ISO 27001 Complete at $99 against $299.00, SOC 2 Complete at $99 against $599.00, and NIST CSF 2.0 Complete, $79, against $399.00 (as displayed on iso-docs.com/products/iso-42001-ai-governance-framework, /products/iso27001-bundle, /products/soc-2-implementation-toolkit and /products/nist-csf-implementation-toolkit, checked 5 September 2026). The trade-off is stated plainly: ISO Docs lists more templates at every one of those price points (29, 80+, 28 and 32 listed titles against our 14, 24, 22 and 15 documents, each set plus 3 Excel workbooks), bundles FastTrack AI access with its ISO 27001 toolkit, and states update and support entitlements we do not offer. On GDPR the picture partly reverses: ISO Docs' $99.00 toolkit lists 70 templates against our $79 pack of 14 documents plus two Excel workbooks (a Records of Processing Activities workbook and an evidence checklist).
- How much does ISO Docs cost?
- As displayed on iso-docs.com on 5 September 2026: the ISO 42001 Toolkit & AI Governance Framework is "Regular price $799.00", the ISO 27001 Toolkit Documentation Toolkit $299.00, the SOC 2 Implementation Toolkit $599.00, the NIST CSF 2.0 Implementation Toolkit $399.00 and the GDPR Implementation Toolkit $99.00, all USD, one-time, with no strike-through. Three bundles showed a struck regular price and a sale price with no end date displayed on the page: the Cybersecurity Bundle at $899.00 (struck from $1,299.00), the AI Governance Bundle at $839.00 (struck from $1,199.00) and the ISO Popular Toolkits Bundle at $899.00 (struck from $1,299.00); the EU AI Implementation Toolkit was $399.00, struck from $699.00; the AI Governance + Risk Combo was $999.00. Single ISO 42001 templates are $79.00 each in the store's public product data. The homepage also lists an ISO Done For You service at "$4,999 fixed-fee package, paid by milestone". No sale end date is displayed on any page we fetched, so re-check the prices before you buy.
- How many templates are in ISO Docs' ISO 42001 and ISO 27001 toolkits?
- The ISO 42001 page states no summary count but lists 29 templates by title, and all 29 names are distinct. The ISO 27001 page says "80+ ready-to-use templates" and lists 82 numbered titles, of which 80 are unique: "Secure System Architecture and Engineering Principles" and "Audit Non-Conformity Report" each appear twice. Our published pricing index divides $299.00 by the 82 listed titles for its $3.65-per-template figure; on unique names it would be $3.74. The SOC 2 page states 28 and lists 28; the NIST CSF 2.0 page states 32 and lists 32; the GDPR page states 70 and lists 70, of which 69 are unique. These are counts of the titles on the vendor's pages on 5 September 2026, not an inspection of the files. For comparison, ComplianceDocs' ISO 42001 AI Management System Toolkit is 14 documents plus 3 Excel workbooks, and its ISO 27001 Complete Toolkit is 24 documents plus 3 Excel workbooks.
- Who is behind ISO Docs, and where is it based?
- ISO Docs' About page says "ISO Docs is a part of Techno-PM. Founded in 2016, Techno-PM emerged with a clear objective: to transform project management, IT service management, and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) through innovative technological solutions" (iso-docs.com/pages/about-us). Its Terms of Service say the site "is part of the Techno-PM group of websites" and that the agreement "is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia" (iso-docs.com/pages/terms-of-service). Its Privacy Policy (iso-docs.com/policies/privacy-policy, checked 5 September 2026) gives the contact as "Techno-PM Pvt Ltd, Suite 703, Level 7, The Trust Building, 155 King Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia", alongside support@iso-docs.com and the phone number shown in the site footer. The site header and og:site_name read "ISO Templates and Documents Download".
- Does ISO Docs include updates and support, and does ComplianceDocs?
- ISO Docs states both, in two places that do not say the same thing. Its Terms of Service say "Unless otherwise stated, updates are free for 12 months from the purchase date"; the FAQ block on its ISO 42001, SOC 2, NIST CSF 2.0 and GDPR product pages says "How will I get my FREE monthly updates? We will send download links to your email in the first few days of the month." On support: the SOC 2 and GDPR pages state "Unlimited Email and Chat Support"; the ISO 42001 and NIST CSF 2.0 pages list a "Dedicated Support Team" under Key Features ("Our dedicated support team is always ready to assist you with expert guidance, answer your questions, and deliver swift solutions"); and the FAQ block shared by those four pages answers "Will I get support if I have an issue or a query?" with "Definitely, yes, we have a dedicated support team who will happily assist." The ISO 27001 page we fetched on 5 September 2026 displays none of those lines. ComplianceDocs offers neither an update program nor a support entitlement: products are one-time purchases with no subscription, delivered as instant downloads, and a file that is defective or materially not as described, reported within 14 days, is repaired, replaced or refunded at our choice. ISO Docs' refund policy page states a full refund in three named scenarios, including where "Templates don't work as described and we cannot fix your problem in less than 24 hours". If maintained updates or a support line are part of what you are buying, that is a real difference in ISO Docs' favor, and you should confirm with ISO Docs which update term applies to the toolkit you choose.
